First and foremost, I have been meaning to do this since I originally start blogging. I wanted to show my appreciation for the woman who inspire me on a daily basis. It took me far too long to actually get this started but every single month, I’ll be featuring a favourite fashion blogger.
Meet Stina (aka No Futvre
). After practically obsessing over her style for weeks, I worked up the courage to attempt to tackle just what it is I enjoy about her in a short blog post. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this ferocious lady through tumblr and that is where my love affair began. Stina is what I like to describe as badass, a thrifting guru and probably one of the few people that can pull of black lipstick. She’s a tattooed Goddess with a genuine ability to really pull off whatever she throws on. I admire women like her and really strive to be as crafty and creative as she is. I had the pleasure of interviewing Stina this past week.
If you could describe your style in 5 words, what would they be?
This is hard cause I don’t think that I have a style??
Why did you start blogging? How long have you been doing it?
My first blog was on diaryland ages ago. I switched over to livejournal when I moved to Toronto, a year after high school. Thats where I blogged on a regular basis. I’m going to be 30 in a few months, so I’ve been doing it regularly for quite a while. I started because I just wanted to connect with other people and I wanted a place to vent. I keep on blogging to connect and meet people, but I don’t need to vent anymore!
Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?
Everywhere. Movies, tv, people on the street, and especially from all the people whose blog’s I follow online.
What stores do you frequent the most?
Value Village, Talize, Target, H&M.
Who are some of your favourite fashion bloggers?
Calivintage, Jaya and Kaya, Bronny of fat aus, Leah of thefullnilson, Xtina of musingsofafatshionista, Gabi Fresh of YFF, Gabby of corazonesrojos.
What are some of your favourite trends?
Pyramid studs and spikes, long skirts, sheer shirts, crop tops, leather anything, fur everything, wedges.
What are your least favourite trends?
Florals, those dresses that look like a top and skirt with a belt but they are actually one piece.
What are some of the key pieces in your wardrobe?
My cardigans and blazers. I always need to cover up so these are key.
Seeing that you’re a regular thrifter, what advice do you have to offer first time thrifters or people who have a hard time spotting those key pieces?
Have fun, look through all the sizes cause things get misplaced all the time, and try on everything and anything that you find interesting.
If you could create your own fashion line, what would it be called and what would you offer your buyers? (ie, sizing, style, etc)
I would probably do a little edie inspired plus size line, for the first season. Original, I know.
