Casino & Fashion

Who would have thought that poker and fashion would make a perfect tandem? No one would seem to notice unless they have a conversation with Jennifer Bryan, the head stylist for NBC's hit series, Las Vegas. She has the view on what's the latest trends inside the field of fashion.
For the series Las Vegas, Jen had to research every casino goers in town to keep the show's casts Josh Duhamel, James Caan, and James Lesure looking cool. And it does not come easy because US casinos nowadays are becoming some kind of a scars since some states declare gambling as an illegal activity, so she had to travel form coast to coast just to gather data. The idea is to keep their swag up to date so viewers would be hooked. There she have identified two types of high Rollers' Fashion in Casinos. The Whale and The Big Player.
The whale, or the extravagant one. He loves to wear his money, his pride, and his glamor. He didn't just come to play poker but also to flaunt his power. He usually wears tuxedos or coat on a bow tie, rolex, slacks and leathers, more of an intimidating look. He walks the talk and talks the walk. A typical high roller's attire.
The Big Player on the other hand is more layed-back compared to it's Whale counterpart. He wears simple clothes such as collared shirts in plain colors. More of a lay-low swagger look.
If you are an average player who can afford to go to casino, Bryan has an idea. It is to play under the radar. The main idea is to dress casually but it's no big deal if you lose. More like a secret millionaire look.
After all the swag ideas, Bryan recommends to wear what it is appropriate for you. Wear what you can afford. Stop pretending to be somebody that you're not because after all, you came to casinos to gamble and not to step up to the runway for a fashion show.
